How do I know if I have a broadband connection?

An easy way to tell is if you hear a dial tone before you use the internet. If you hear either a dial tone or something dialing the phone before you can use the internet, you do not have a broadband connection.

The easiest way, however, is to simply view the demonstration movie. If it looks fine, then there is no reason to worry about the details.

For viewing videos, it doesn't make any difference if your broadband connection is a DSL line, cable modem, satellite link, T1/T3, or SONET. All of them will work equally as well.
