Imagine a world where customer orders are fulfilled for your movie quickly and with no effort on your part.
Imagine if these orders could be filled without maintaining on-hand stock.
Imagine being able to sell copies of your current movie without being distracted from making your next movie, and being paid for every copy of your movie sold.
This isn't a dream, it's Web Wide Video's DVD on Demand service!
The independent film maker's distribution problem... solved!
If you're an independent, student, or special interest film maker, chances are you've wrestled with the problems of distribution:
How many units should I have made?
Should I make a thousand unit run? If I do, what if I only sell ten copies? Will I be using extra copies of my movie to prop up my couch for the rest of my life?
Should I sell direct to my fans?
If I sell direct, can I really manage that entire process?
What about credit card or Paypal fees?
What about customer returns?
How can I do all of this while simultaneously making my next film?
Web Wide Video has a solution specifically tailored for the independent film maker! Web Wide Video's DVD on Demand service is a revolutionary way to manage your production, distribution and fulfillment needs while requiring little time on your part. It allows the independent film maker to concentrate on making the movie, not distributing it.
How the service works:
You send in a copy of your movie. A finished DVD with art is the lowest cost option (since you're doing most of the work), but if all that you have available is a copy of your movie on tape, we can work with that as well.
You set the amount of profit for your movie. The base price for each copy of your movie is WWV's "cut", $X. (WWV's cut is not disclosed publically for competition reasons; please contact us for details.) So if you set your profit to be $1 per copy, the end price for the constomer would be $X + $1.00. If you set your profit to $5 per copy, then the end price would be $X + $5.00 . As a film maker, you have the freedom to raise or lower your cut at any time, but remember that the minimum price for the end user will always be at least $X.
Web Wide Video will create a short teaser of your film and place it on the web to entice buyers. Alternatively, if you would like to have full control over your teaser (i.e. trailer), simply send that along and it can be shown instead no problem (and of course, no additional cost!).
Web Wide Video sets up a dedicated page showing your movie teaser, your company logo (if you have one), and a "buy this movie now" banner. Page can be customized with extra information about your movie, links back to your production studio, etc. Your movie does not share space or time with any other movie!
Once an order is placed and after a holding period, you will be paid! Payment can be via Paypal transfer monthly or via company check. There is a thirty day waiting period between order fulfillment and payout to allow for customer returns, chargebacks, etc. Once thirty days has passed since payment, that transaction is eligible for the end of month payout.
Example: Customer orders and pays for movie on January 15th. The movie producer's cut is ineligible for payment until February 15th. Since all accounts are paid out at the end of the month, on February 28th (or 29th, depending on the year), a Paypal transfer or company check would be issued.
Graphics and Artwork:
Full color graphics for DVDs are printed directly onto the disc surface; no labels, no hoaky sharpie markers, and no lightscribe are ever used!
Full color graphics are also printed for the DVD jacket cover, and a standard amary style DVD case is used for all DVD on Demand products.
Web Wide Video strongly encourages movie producers to design their own case and disc graphics using the templates provided below.
Web Wide Video only accepts graphics in Adobe Photoshop format. Use the CMYK color space for accurate color representation on screen while creating your graphics. (Already done for you if you use the templates.)
DVD case graphics should be 272 mm by 185 mm, including the spine. Best bet is to use the jacket template provided below.
DVD graphics should be MAXIMUM 118 mm diameter, with at least a 24 mm hole cut out of them for the center. Again your best bet is to use the provided template.
